A Brief Survey About 130 kilometers southwest of Lanzhou on the northwestern plateau, lies the famous, ancient city o[ Linxi-a--the "Land Port of Gansu". Linxia stands on the bank of the lower eaches of the Daxia River, since the river is its neighbor, the town is called" neighbor" (" lin")to the "Xia" which refers to the Daxia River.
